History

Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care is the first nursing home in the Clifton Park Area, and provides the area with much needed long term skilled nursing care beds.

Our Philosophy
The Schuyler Ridge Philosophy is unmistakable: Residents come first. Each resident at Schuyler Ridge is an individual with unique experiences and aspirations. By focusing upon capabilities rather than limitations, Schuyler Ridge enhances quality of life and accommodates a remarkable degree of individual preferences. Quality long-term care requires long-term commitment. Our people embody a spirit and dedication that makes them true professionals.

Our Mission
Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care is a not-for-profit 120 bed skilled nursing home which exists to offer a full range of residential, health and supportive services to geriatric residents. Schuyler Ridge is dedicated to the provision of quality, individualized care and assisting residents to maintain their dignity, freedom of choice and enjoyment of living to the fullest degree possible.

Our Central Location
Located on 7.5 acres of landscaped grounds between Plank Road and Maxwell Drive, Schuyler Ridge is situated just north of Route 146 in Clifton Park. The 74,000 square foot facility includes three 40 bed living units, each containing a nursing station to service both semi-private and private rooms. The Administrative Commons contains additional dining and recreation areas as well as rehabilitation therapies, beauty salon and other amenities.

Our Innovative Design
Schuyler Ridge has been designed as an alternative to the institutional look of traditional nursing homes. This distinctive design supports our mission by creating an atmosphere that nurtures a strong sense of community among residents, emphasizes resident quality of life and enables individuals to maximize their level of independence. Historic names from the Saratoga region have been used to add to the sense of belonging to the community, ie., restaurant style dining is served in the General John Stark Inn, residents may receive hair care services in Dolle's Park Salon, relax in C.V. Whitney Lounge or browse in Beatrice Mae's Gift Shop. The three 40 resident nursing units, Clifton Hills, Ensign Point, and Fenimore, also reflect the historical heritage of the area.

The High Rock Spa
Named for the first therapeutic mineral spring discovered in Saratoga. A special place to which people would travel to "take the cure". Here is the center of our rehabilitation services, including our Recreation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Speech and Hearing as well as our Medical Directors examine room.

Beatrice Mae's Gift Shop
About as unpretentious a person as you'll ever meet. Grandma Bea raised 7 children and was well known in her community for her quick smile and easy laugh.

Dolles Park Salon
Was a small amusement park, near Rexford, the equipment was later moved to the Kaydeross Park. This beauty shop is a place to hear the local news and have your hair styled.

Clifton Hills
One of the higher elevations in Clifton Park and is the site upon which we are built. It was our first unit to open and reflects our high expectations for this Health Care Center.

Ensign Point
An ensign is a standard or an ideal worth achieving. Ensign is also the last name of a simple colonial Schuylerville family who, like so many families, played a small but important part in the early days of this area.

James "Fenimore" Cooper
"Last of Mohicians" took place here! Single story design to enhance safety and residents independent mobility.

General John Stark Inn
General Stark was a true patriot who came to this area from New Hampshire during the Revolutionary War. His uncompromising spirit made him one of the more colorful heros of the war for independence.

Whitney Lounge
Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, well known benefactor to the Saratoga area, and involved in a variety of recreational and community activities.
